Paint Application System with PPS™
3M Paint Preparation System (PPS™) revolutionises paint mixing and spraying

A dramatic increase in paint shop efficiency is possible thanks to this disposable mixing system.
3M developed the idea of a disposable paint mixing system to do away with traditional spray gun mixing pots and paper filters.
The 3M Paint Preparation System uses just one liner-cup for both mixing and spraying, there’s no external contamination as the closed system has a built-in filter. Gun cleaning is easy because there’s no traditional cup to clean. Unused paint can be stored for future use simply by capping the liner.
3M™ PPS™ has the ability to reduce solvents by up to 70% from traditional gravity cups, and up to 90% with PPS™ and 3M Accuspray™.

Step 1 - Identify the right colour and shade
Identify your correct colour and shade by using the 3M™ PPS ™ Colour Check Light and Colour Match Film Process.

Step 2 - Mixing the base coat directly in the PPS™ liner-cup system

Step 3 - Clean the surface and remove any dust or contaminants
- use silicone remover for any oil and grease
- use water based cleaner for any salts and other contaminants

Step 4 - The closed cup PPS™ system allows the optimal application of any base coat

Step 5 - Cleaning of the gun
- Remove air line
- Turn gun upside down and pull trigger to inflate liner again and allow residue material in the gun to flow back into the liner

You can use the PPS™ Liners to store unused base coats by capping the liner. Please refer to paint manufacturers recommendation regarding re-use and shelf life!
3M Paint Preparation System is also ideal to be use with todays state-of-the art clear coats as these are nowadays "high reactive" and have a shorter pot life time.
PPS™ helps you to always mix the right required quantity and applying fresh clear coat to the panel as the quality of the clear coat suffers with increased pot life.
